A Needy Wilmington signifies that Wilmington is home to individuals and families who are deeply in need not just materially, but emotionally and socially. It’s a call to recognize and respond to the community’s lack of affection, attention, and emotional support.

We are all facing something far greater than we ever imagined physically, mentally, and emotionally. While the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted life as we knew it, we cannot allow it to take away the sense of connection and normalcy we once had.
Now, more than ever, self-care is essential and one of the most powerful forms of self-care is selfless giving. Whether it’s your time, a meal, or a small donation, every act of kindness creates a ripple of hope in a world that feels uncertain.
Your compassion can make a real impact. And often, what you give comes back to you twice as strong.

Thanks to your generosity, 7 seniors who were at risk of missing out can now attend prom and enjoy their senior activities memories that will last a lifetime.
Because of this incredible community and everyone who donated or participated in the raffle, these students get to celebrate a milestone they’ll never forget. 💃🏾🕺🏽🎓
This is what happens when grassroots efforts and caring hearts come together, we rise above the status quo. It’s easy to say no or look away but sometimes helping someone you don’t even know is the most powerful thing you can do.
